What is a podcast?

Podcasting is a form of audio broadcasting on the Internet. A podcast is a series of audio episodes released in mp3 format on a regular basis for listeners to download or stream at their convenience. Listeners can listen to one episode at a time, subscribe and receive an episode regularly, or listen to the show history one by one.

Plain English is released once per week and the audio recording is 100% free of charge. You can sign on to the web site each week to listen to the newest episode or browse our archives and listen to past episodes. If you like, you can also subscribe to the podcast on your mobile device or iTunes software so that each new episode is automatically added to your playlist as soon as it’s published.

How to access the show

The easiest way to access the show is to visit PlainEnglish.com and click on the page for the newest episode. You’ll always see the media player and you can play it via your computer or mobile device right from the web site. That is best if you’d like to follow along with the transcript. However, if you don’t need the transcripts, you can also subscribe via iTunes, the Podcasts app, or Google Play. To learn more about subscriptions, click here.
